Doug Johns
"One of the most credit - deserving bass virtuosos in America... it's his inventiveness that's consistently compelling." This is what Bass Player Magazine says about Doug Johns. If you've had the chance to see Doug live, then you'll agree that his jaw dropping technical ability is only surpassed by his soulful musical delivery.

Jon Hill, owner of Bootleg Guitars and Basses, met Doug in 1991 and he quickly realized that Doug's higher understanding of guitar building tolerances would be a challenging project. "His demands for preciseness from his instruments is excruciating," said Jon Hill. "Through our long relationship, Doug has really become a great friend and a wonderful R&D guy that I can bounce ideas off of."

Doug has worked with such icons as Victor Wooten, Buddy Miles, Chuck Rainey, Dana Rasch, The LA Mass Choir, Grammy winning producer Aaron Lindsey, Steve Smith, and many others. With three solo albums to his credit, Doug is receiving outstanding reaction from the bass community and creating new fans where ever he plays. In addition to numerous clubs, clinics, and festival bookings, look for Doug playing such events as BassQuake, Bass Player Live, Bass Slam and BassBash with a host of other stellar bassists.
