| Robbie Merrill |
Robbie Merrill is the Grammy nominated bassist for the multi-platinum rock band, Godsmack. His dynamic bass style has made him an arena favorite ever since the band was formed in 1995. As Godsmack continues to bruise, batter and bludgeon their way around the globe, Robbie can be seen with his Bootleg bass specially designed for him by Jon Hill.
Jon and Robbie were introduced to each other by Billy Morris of Warrant. Jon immediately designed a custom left handed bass for Robbie with the Godsmack logo on the back of the neck and between the pickups. "This was an old throwback to the basses I built for Tom Araya of Slayer", said Hill. "Robbie's new bass is loosely based off of the Dawg Bass, with some custom upgrades. Neck thru body, maple neck, solid maple body sides, ebony fretboard, 35" scale 24 frets, EMG PJ set with an Auguilar pre-amp and of course, left handed. Getting to know Robbie a bit, I learned a couple interesting things. First of all, he is an incredible bass player. We were trading off some of our favorite Jaco riffs and Robbie knows his bass", said Hill. "I am also surprised at what a down to earth, cool dude he is."
